St. Christopher's Inn is the oldest freestanding shelter in New York State.

Pastoral Counseling >>

  group counseling session

It is uniquely designed to meet the needs of men on a temporary basis. A typical shelter only stay is approximately 21 days. Each shelter resident is assigned a counselor. Shelter residents have access to an array of services during their stay including: medical and psychiatric needs met through our Article 28 Medical Clinic; 12-step meetings daily; limited access to educational treatment groups; a first week lecture series; individual and group counseling; pastoral services; acupuncture and more. St. Christopher's Inn accepts no individual payment for a shelter stay. In lieu of payment, all shelter residents are required to perform an assigned activity. This activity or job assists the Friars with upkeep and maintenance of the “holy mountain.” A shelter stay may be therapeutic, but it is not a substitute for treatment.
